Does the MAF option have a "failure" mode?

I'm wondering if there is some default "guesstimate" calculation for load in the event MAF input to MS goes to an extreme? TPS with a generalized "translate" table?

There isn't any check right now. This is done with coolant and air temperatures because their range is such that it would be extremely unlikely that the sensor would ever reach those extreme values. and if the reading did show pegging, it is easy to pick a default value to use. With map and maf sensors, this could be problematic. If someone got a little too enthusiastic with their turbo they could exceed the air flow/ pressure of the sensor, abnd then what should be done - we don't want to set the map/ maf to a mid-value range or it would blow up the turbo, while setting it very rich could flood a non-turbo car. So the default value would have to be a user input.
