Pertronix

I am using a Pertronix ignition pick up and a standard ignition coil. I just want to make sure that I wire it properly to my MSII relay board. Can anyone assist me with this?
Thanks,
James

Treat it like it's a set of points. Are you running fuel only, or will your MS be controlling fuel and ignition? For fuel only, it's coil negative to Tach. For fuel and ignition, run the black wire to Tach with a 12 volt pull up resistor and S5 to coil negative.

Thanks Matt,
As I understand it, I run the black Pertronix wire in series with the 12V pull up resistor to tach on the relay board. Not being familiar with the resistor, where would I obtain it?
Thanks again,
James

Radio Shack or Fry's works if you want a local source. Pretty much any 1K resistor should do the job.

A little problem here. My tach is running backwards on engine cranking (I have not started the engine yet). The wiring to the tach is correct. I ran the black wire from the Pertronix to tach on the relay board and S5 to coil negative, the red wire on the Pertronix goes to batt +. Any ideas? I will continue to work on it.
Thanks,
James

Is this the MegaTune or dash tach? How is the dash tach wired up?

It's a dash tach on my dyno console. The wiring is; positive to the ignition switch, negative to ground and signal to the negative side of the coil.

Very strange; this doesn't sound like it is related to the MS.

I do not get a tach reading in Megatune when cranking the engine.

Ok, going back to the earlier question, is the MS controlling fuel only, or fuel and ignition?

Fuel and ignition.

Ok, let me know how the MS is jumpered internally. Also, are you able to get an RPM signal on a Stimulator?
