Wiring Relay Board to Sensors

Using MS II V3 with Relay board. My enging wiring harness came with a nice metal DB 37 connector same as the cable for Relay board to ECU (relay cable has DB37 on both ends). Do you see any problems with me mounting the Relay board in cab next (or near)to MS II box, connecting Engine harness DB37 (plug in) to Relay board, then use the Relay Harness to plug into ECU, then cut off the other end of the relay cable (DB37) for hook up to the relay board screw terminals? If EMI is a problem next to ECU i can mount the relay board in engine compartment, but wouls still like to hook it up as i described. Thanks.

That's a rather backwards way to wire it up, and some of the connections on the screw terminals don't have counterparts in the DB37 connector. It could be done if you match the schematics, but you really shouldn't have a DB37 connector on the engine side harness when using a relay board.

Thanks, ill hook it up the as you recommend.

Thanks, Ill wire it up like you recommend. Any comments about putting the relay board near the MS II box in cab (instead of relay board in engine compartment)?

There's no problem with locating the MS and Relay board near each other, mine are about 6" apart with no problems.

Thanks again-the wealth of information on these forums is outstanding. Mounting the relay board and MS II box inside the cab just eliminates all posibilities of inducing problems due to moisture (rain or engine wash).

Yes I mounted the relay board inside too. then ran the harness to the engine side of the firewall and connected to the sensor leads using Metric-Pack 280 Weather Pack terminals.
