how much of a leeway do you have for tuning spark. i took apart my distributor cap and i notice the rotor width, the part that delivers the spark to the the corresponding cylinder, is less then an inch. i drew up a quick sketch. thank you. if its a very confusing question, please let me know and i will clarify it. the setup that i am going for is the msII. i am going to make all the wiring harnesses for the vehicle as well. im just trying to research as much as i can b4 i get started. once again thank you.

Hmmm. I seem to have missed the question there somewhere. Let me offer up this information. I am using MS to control the spark on my engine and it uses a stock distributor, (dizzy). The weights and springs have been removed and the breaker plate, (that gives the original centrifugal advance), has been locked in place. I have replaced the original points and condenser with a hall effect sensor, (Pertronix), ignition module. I use the original rotor and cap. I still retain the original coil. Once properly configured, MS will give you whatever advance you program it for. You do not need to rotate the dizzy in order to change the advance with MS controlling it.
I hope that answered your question(s).
