Can MS1 measure over 215F/102C?

Post by M-Tech »

As I have noticed MS1 only show max coolant temp of 215F/102C.
I have noticed, that with standard firmware (no EasyTherm mod) and GM CLT sensor MS shows over 215F/102C even over 360F/180C.
But when I use EasyTherm for firmware mod (Bosch sensor) and corresponding inc files MegaTune only shows max 215F/102C.
I can make EasyTherm mod with out inc files and then MegaTune shows over 215F/102C but the are wrong because I don't use right inc files.
Why can MS1 show over 215F/102C with GM sensors and not with Bosch sensor?
I have read that the embedded code that runs on the MS processor uses temperature units of degreesF + 40, meaning that the temperature measurement range is -40F thru 215F.
How does the standard GM firmware work then?

As I understand at the moment it is impossible to switch radiator fan on at 230F/110C with Bosch sensor?

Anyone?

As I have read 215F/102C should be the maximum temperature because how the values are stored in MS1 processor.
With GM sensors and unmodified firmware/megatune MegaTune can show higher temperature values but useful for outputs are only lower than 215F/102C.

Does anyone have something to add?
