Megasquirt/LC-1 question

I'm putting an MS2 and an LC-1 in a BMW I recently bought. I'm putting the MS inside the stock ECU case and was wondering if running the LC-1 power, ground, and analog out into the case (soldered to either the MS board or stock ECU pin) would cause any problems? I know the MS and LC-1 should be grounded at the same point, but am curious about the current from the heater in the LC-1 possibly causing issues.
Thanks, Dave

Hey Dave-
Definitely do not run power to LC-1 from the MS2 power in the case. LC-1 is a very noisy unit; both conducted and radiated. Put a scope on it, or turn it on/off with an AM radio antenna around, you will see what I mean. Both units will be much happier the further away they are getting their power. Also- be sure to mount the LC-1 controller away from any heat; engine compartment = bad, below on frame rail = good. I learned these lessons already, and once it works... it works great.
Grounding individually at the engine block will avoid any potential for ground loops, and big fat soldered grounds are always a better long term build.
Scott.

Cool, that's pretty much what I figured. I have another one on my mustang but that one's carb'd so there wasn't an ECU to worry about. I'm actually using the original BMW grounds which surprisingly are in decent shape. I'm going to ground both of them inside the stock ECU case.
