EDIS control

I have a 94 ford escort with factory edis. Rich now I am running MSII 3.0 v2.89 fuel only control. Today I decided to have ms control the timing. I have the factory harness in place to control IAC and fuel pump. I cut PIN 1 on the edis and wired it to TACH on the relay board and cut PIN 3 and wired it to S5 on the relay board. The remaining wires are running to everything else as stock so I know that they are fine. I set up the ignition setting :
Ignition Capture-Falling edge
Crank trigger- Calculated
Coil charge Scheme- EDIS
Spark Output- Going high and Inverted
Trigger Offset- 0
Predictor Aligorium- Last Interval

I tried starting it and I get a rpm signal and after a few tried the car started but ran badly then died and is hard starting it ever since. The VE and the AFR table are the same, spark advance table I have gotten from (****) as a starting reference point. Could it be the spark advance map. I just need a little light shed on my situation. Thanks
Here is my msq

Did you set all the right jumpers? http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/EDIS.htm
Try running the engine without the saw signal, pin #3. It should run in limp home mode, 10deg btdc.

I let it run in limp mode and it runs. I received the MSII 3.0 from DIYAutoTune preassembled. I even checked the wiring and everything is correct. I even hooked the PIP and SAW back up to the factory ecu putting it back in "Fuel Only" mode and the car runs fine with the setup that I have in there already. That is why I think it is the spark map but am not sure. I receive a tach signal and the rpm is reading correctly but the car really doesnt run. Maybe it is the fact that the factory compression of the engine is 9.2:1and now it is 7.8:1 would play a large role in the problem. If there was a way that I could find out what the factory timing was so I can set it at that and make sure that it is just the spark advance map. I dont know how to set that up and finding someone with the some setup is impossible.

The lowered cr does change the timing but not in a way that it's not even running. Post your sparkmap not the cfg.

I know this is a long time after your original post, but isn't the input supposed to be 'rising edge' ??
