Dear All

Just had a little re-wire for Christmas and need to know what to fuse the above coil at,anyone know?

John

P.S. I know the primary resistance is 0.8 ohms which works out at 16amps D.C.?

That sounds like an EDIS-4/8 coil?

I had one and measured 0.56Ohm and 5.6mH. I plugged this into LTSpice and got the attached graph (for a 12V pulse).

I doubt you would need more than 4ms of charge time and then the current hits 7A. I recon a 10A fuse will do.
