no afr tables and will not run set to WB O2

I have a MS II V3 board running a TBI setup. I find that I when the MT us running I have the VE tables but the afr tables are all grey'd out and to accessable. If I go to the review, I can see the tables as I step through the popup screens. I used to have afr tables. Where did they go?

In my project config folder I have the setting.ini set to the Innovate lc1 0-5 volt setting. I have calibrated the afr popup the same. But the motor will not contiue to run when I set the ego type to single wide band. It will start but not contiue to run. It looks to me as if it goes real lean then dies. If I set the ego type to narrow band, it starts and runs well, with reasonable afr's at idle, warmed up of about 13.5. If I switch to WB it will not run, switch back to NB it runs good. Any suggestions? It seems to run good, but I'm sure this is not right.

Thanks, Bill Klein

Please post a copy of your MSQ file - both the narrow band one that's working, and the wide band one that doesn't. Also, please post a data log of an attempted start. This will give me a better feeling for what's going on.

This is my first attempt at adding files to the post and first attempt at a datalog. I was not able to run the datalogs very long. If I need to do more, let me know. I hope this is what you needed. Thanks, Bill Klein

I just read a post about having to recalibrate an innovate wide band O2 sensor several times. Could this be what I need to do? Bill klein

When you are first getting the engine in tune, I'd recommend turning the EGO correction off by setting the controller authority to zero, until you have a good VE table anyway.

You stated that it leans out and dies, but the log itself shows it running pig rich and then dying. Are you using a separate gauge with the LC-1? If so, does it match the reading in MegaTune?

Thanks, I'll try the ego correction thing. Still, the last time I looked on MT the afr tables were greyed out and not accessable to me. I still don't know what to do to get the afr tables to show up. If I go to the "review" thing on the dropdown menu the afr table shows up. Is there something I need to do to get the afr's back? Or should I just not worry about that for now, get it to run OK and tune the VE?

The reason I thought it was going lean is because as I try to get it to run if I don't pump the gas like crazy I can watch the afr gauge on MT and the needle sweeps to the right with higher and higher numbers that I interpreted as getting leaner and leaner. If I pump the gas it will continue to run and the afr's hold in the 12 or so range. I did see that on initial startup the afr was like 10, which is pig rich. If I let it warm up a little by repeatedly starting it, it doesn't start so rich.

I'm still confused, obviously, by the "run with NB, not run with WB" thing.

One more thing, I noted that the datalog came out as a chart rather than as a squigle line graph. Is there something I can do to get it to be a graph?

Thanks again, Bill Klein

Don't worry about what the log looks like, it'll look correct if opened with MegaLogViewer.

Without a good and bad start for comparison, I can't tell for sure why it would run one way but not the other. I took a closer look and one time it did seem to go lean, the other times it went rich. The O2 sensor may not be warmed up enough to give a good read.

AFR tables are accessible with wide band enabled, but not narrow band.
