V 3.57 board, no action on pin 36

Hi everybody:
Been digging through the forums with a ferver, but haven't found an answerto my particular question yet.
I have a 3.57 with an MSII daughterboard. A VR distributor, Jumpers at J1 & JP1 set for a VR, with the cover off you can see the injector LED flash when cranking so I seem to be getting signal from the VR.
I am using pin 36 to ground the coil, & coil + has full time power.
Megatune tach shows cranking RPM so something is working.
The problem:
Pin 36 does not provide grounding to trigger the coil.
No sparks from the coil. No fun.
Any suggestions ?
Thanks !
JH

Some more information:
When running my jimstim 1.3 board I get similar results: The Ign LED stays dead.:
If I jumper the Ign led to pin 36 no action.
If I ground the led jumper instead of going to pin 36 the LED comes on.
The stim is operating & triggering injectors.
I would think pin 36 should be sinking to ground & giving me Ignition LED confirmation while the injectors are operating.
At least I don't have to wear out my rare starter any more ( GS Citroen) if I can duplicate the problem on the bench........
Thanks for any suggestions,
JH

OK:
Answering my own questions.
There is no IGBT in position Q16 on the V 3.57.
That would slow me down.
Does anyone know where to grab an ignition signal off a MS II daughterboard to trigger an external ignitor ?
Or anyone know where to find references on jumpering a V 3.57 board ?
Thanks !
Jaan

JS10 is your ignition pad, but I would advise against connecting the ECU directly to the Great Outdoors - you never know when a stray pulse will come back and fry your chip!. If you don't want to install a full-on IGBT, at least consider a cheaper FET or transistor.

Thanks for the idea Don.
It never occurred to me that a transistor might actually serve as a firewall too.
Installed a VB192, & a jumper from the J10 to the Q16 area. It's off to see if it works on the car.

Better name is buffer. It serves no purpose other than to protect the main chip. Although it could do others - like provide a lower impedance source.
