Trying to install Tunerstudio in Ubuntu

I have a good Toshiba, just a couple years old and has a 9 pin com port. But it worked like crap with Vista. So I recently made the switch to Ubunto 10. I'd really like to learn the OS but am having a hard time. I've downloaded the Release Candidate version 0.999.7 RC3, extracted the files to my download "place" and see just the .sh file. Running that file only opens up a text file. I am familiar with the terminal in Ubuntu but don't really know where to go from here. Anyone wanna help this newb?

If you double click the sh file in Ubuntu it should prompt you as to what to do with Run being 1 of the options. Maybe it needs the execute flag set?

Try opening a terminal and change to the dir TS is in.
type:
./TunerStudio.sh

That should fire it up.

The only other thing you need to do is make sure your user is in the uucp group for access to the serial lock files dir or you won't be able to connect to the controller.

Yeah, that works. I see what happened. Even though I told it to extract the files it only extracted tunerstudio32.sh. I was clicking that. Once I actually copied the files to a folder it starts up as it should.

Thanks!

Great!

I still need to put together an rpm or deb file to install it with icons... That will come shortly.
