Air Supply.

Hi. First post. Been researching FI and really impressed with the feedback and support for MS, so i'm injecting my 1100 GSXR oil boiler with MS1.
My main question is this. Before i hack into my petrol tank and run two 50mm tubes through it, can anyone tell me if this won't work.
I've fabricated an aluminium fuel tank and don't want to waste time supplying air to an airbox via the two pipes if it aint gonna work.

Image

So feed is kinda like ram air on sports bikes....

Two pipes like above will feed into the airbox....obv only one shown.
Looking at the Kawasaki ZX10R feed through the frame, it seems i have large enough tube to supply the required air, but just want some opinions before i cut the holes and run the pipes.
Sorry if this isn't the correct place to post this...but it seems here's as good as any to get the info i require.

Anyone?....
Found out i need to flare the pipes into the airbox...and made a calculation that seemed to back up my idea, but still....anyone want to comment? I've got to chop it soon.

Started work on the ram air tubes. And no feedback for the diameter...i've got to get on with it. I couldn't find anyone willing to bend a couple of tubes, so i had to buy a couple of elbows off that site. Then chop them in half to give me 4x45deg curves.

Image

Then weld to a straight piece of the same diameter...57mm.

I need to do some blending/smoothing inside before i attach the second 45. This gives me a softer radius than using the two 90's...a bit more gradual in the turn so to speak.
The pipes will go inside the tank thus...

Image

And with the pump fitted to make sure i have space at the front between the pipes...

I also checked the capacity of the tank....best be sure i aint left with a tank that needs filling everytime i go past a station. Works out about 38 litres, minus approx 3 for the pipes and pump, i'm still left with a 35 litre tank....ish.
I thought it was going to be less, but it's deceptively larger than i thought.

Hey I like it, hope its worked for you. Always good to see people think outside the square.

How thick is the alloy plate you made the tank from? I suppose you tapped blind holes in the pump attachment ring?

I'm guessing thats a GsxR 600 pump you are using? With the original internal filter?

Where did you put your temp sensor? Sump or head?
Good luck with it anyway.
