Engine Hydrolocks W/Fuel

Post by noface »

MS II, V3.0, 2.89 code

1994 KA24E 4 cylinder, all stock components.

Engine's been running about month driving to school and back. Still working on minor tuning...

This is the second time it's filled the intake and cylinders with fuel.

When it starts this, white smoke enough to kill a billion mosquitos.

How can this happen?

Hooked up Megatune, and other than the o2 being pegged, everything looks normal.

Injector LED on MS box is firing like it's supposed to, not constantly lit...

I have an external fuel pump if that matters, don't know specific fuel pressure, but replaced the stock regulator, and still the same thing. Fuel does flow to the return when the pump is on.

I'm at a loss for what next...

Did this happen on startup or while the engine is running.

It happens while running.

FLoods it until it dies, and then if you leave the ignition on too long afterwards, the intake will flood with fuel.

Been reading some... Could be a flyback circuit faulure? ...Idunno....

Have you been able to capture a data log of this happening? If so, did the pulse width spike or stay the same? If the pulse width spiked, it's a tune issue, if not, it sounds like a hardware problem.
