Ground to battery

Hi there,

I am just installing my Megasquirt and have conflicting information about grounds and so on.

I have an RS Autosport loom that asks to splice cables short 8" cables from pins 7 to 11 together and then run a single thick cable to a ground.

I installed it like this - taking the ground directly to the battery - the diagram supplied did not state engine block.

Currently it is only running my ignition and wideband - and it seems to be working ok.

I have read that I should take 5 separate wires - but is it ok to take it to the battery and not the engine block?

I doubt it matters. I'm using a factory EFI loom on my RV8 as the basis for the MS one, and that goes to the block. But does take the +12v direct from the battery to the main relay. The important part is grounding all the sensor grounds at the same point.

Thanks Dave - I don't understand why it wouldn't work that way - but I guess I'll see if I have any odd noise when it's all up and running properly.

Only sensor connected so far is the wideband - that doesn't have any issues.
