Tunerstudio as the car's dash?

Has anyone actually replaced their car's dash with a display using TunerStudio? How would one go about doing this?

I'm assuming you would need some sort of laptop/netbook/similar hidden behind the dash, but how would the software run? I'm curious whether or not TS could be made to run without the long start-up time associated with running a Windows/Linux OS.

TIA

Chris

Yep..
Go to youtube and do a search for TunerStudio. There are a number of cars with TS embedded in the dash.

I just finished a carputer install on a 94 firebird. I used a mini ITX board and parts from mini-box.com to wire up the system including a touch screen. Its a simple process you just need to plan before you start buying parts and be delicate with them as computer parts are fragile.

i've just installed 11 inch display next to dash, and having my laptop all the time on passanger seat (or passnager legs) to run TS. With Windows MX 8.1 my old laptop boots-up within 30 sek. and is ready to run, by that time car won't even get warm so it suites me as i never drive until car gets over 160F(75C) :) also by having laptop i can also check or tune if needed at any time, costs:
old laptop around 100$
11 display 140$
wires, lighter pluged power for display and laptop 60$

with 300US i won't get that much of gauges and info on engine work, also when i plug audio cable form my audio amplifire i get multimedia like movies and MP3 with out need of having rado instaled just amplifire, display and spekers :yeah!:

best regards
