No RPM When using stim

Hello again, another question for you guys. Im testing the Input section on instruction 56. have it hooked up, megatune running, all my pots work perfectly with the exception of the rpm, it does nothing at all. Checked my solders this time and redid some, no change. Also re flashed firmware, finally figured that one out, and still the same thing. xg1 is jumpered to xg2.
Thanks in advance
John M

List the jumpers you've made and the ignition setting on the stim, please.

Its an ms1 v2.2. I have jumpered xg1 to xg2 as well as diode d8. The manual didn't say anything about setting changes.

Is the RPM switch in the PNP or NPN position? With the standard build, it needs to be PNP.

yes it is in pnp, when in use the rpm gauge is red, all others except one are white.

If you stick the switch in the halfway position (this turns the signal off) and apply 5 volts to pin 24, does the voltage at the optoisolator's output drop from 5 volts to zero?

Im applying 5 volts to pin 24 of what? the db37?

Ok i put the switch to off. I put 5 volts to pin25 on the db37. The output on u4, the optoisolator, read .06v. So pretty much reading zero.

That is the correct test. When you release the 5 volt input, does the signal at the optoisolator output go back up to 5 volts?

It could be settings. Please post a copy of your MSQ file.

I'm afraid that is not the MSQ. I need the file you get when you go to File -> Save As (MegaTune) or File -> Save Tune As (TunerStudio).

Sorry about that. This should be the one. From tunerstudio.

Not much you CAN set wrong in B&G code to kill the RPM. Does it get RPM on an actual engine?

That's what i figured, i have yet to install it on a vehicle, it will be going on a miata, still havent yet decided on standalone or fuel only. I think fuel only would be my best bet just to get my feet wet. So i have to do the miata inputs, somehow trigger the fuel pump for the miata and then figure out the harness.
