FORD EDIS VR or HALL?

Step 50 of the Assembly Guide mentions having to choose between Hall/Optical/etc or VR sensor

I'm going to use Ford EDIS ( ie EDIS module, crank wheel, coil packs etc) and according to step 50 it also says that Ford EDIS uses Hall/Optical sensor.
Based on this, I completed step 52 for use with Hall effect.

Today I clicked on a link in the manual which it took me to a description of the The Ford EDIS System

http://www.megamanual.com/ms2/EDIS.htm

The description shows EDIS using a VR sensor rather than a hall sensor.

I went back and re-jigged the MS for VR.

I’m just after confirmation ...... do I have it right or have I misunderstood something altogether here?

Does anyone know????

thanks in advance
Sam

The VR sensor is connected to the EDIS module, but not to the MS. All the MS sees is the square wave PIP signal from the EDIS. So you use the Hall/optical input.

(Actually, it will work with VR input too, but you don't need to use it. The VR conditioner can work with all sorts of things that aren't VR signals.)

thanks Matt,

I'll reverse the changes and bring back the Hall jumpers, btw - I'm also guessing this will help with my RPM test in step 55 (see other post )
