Earlier i heard a loud pop and smelt magic smoke. The motor continued to run fine so i didnt pull over and check it until i went to leave and the injectors wouldnt pulse. Checked everything under hood found nothing wrong. Started looking at the ecm and seen a blck spec on the c14 capacitor. What would cause that and any other components i should be looking at?

ms2 v3
gm tbi with 8 pin hei.

It could be a defective C14 or installed backwards; the other thing that can damage C14 is a voltage spike on the 12 volt plane going over C14's maximum voltage. The other things this can potentially damage are power supply capacitors like C16.

How much nothing? There can be a big difference between a little bit of nothing and a whole lot of nothing. Do you have an RPM signal? Spark? Communication between the laptop and the MegaSquirt?

No injector pulse. The ecm powers up fine and connects fine no injectors at all. I need to check rpm but i didnt change anything under the hood that would cause an rpm loss. Anyway i can check my injector driver? I bought a socket but digikey dont carru them anymore.

First thing I'd do is confirm you are getting RPM, then check to see if the injector outputs can blink the LEDs on a Stim.

Everything seems to be working on the stim after i set the rpm switch. Im now checking the distributor and the module cause 1 may have failed.

Swapped the module for an extra i had laying around. I reinstalled the distributor redid my grounds and relocated my coil and added a thicker carb spacer gasket. Did all this started to spin it over and the starter broke. Put a new one on it and it fired right up. So out of all that i did maybe i fixxed the other issues i had. Now if i could figue out this com drop issue im having id be really happy. Im gonna pull the board and clean it at work tomorrow and see if it helps on the issue cause it could be stray flux.
