setting xTau to zero

The manual indicates that xTau can be set to zero at one or more map/rpm boxes as a place holder to keep xTau running without making any correction. Can someone tell me how to do this? Megatune and TunerStudio both auto correct zero entries. Thanks

There is a disable switch for x-tau. That is the best way to disable it and all the inputs are left intact. If you want to just disable, for example, the deceleration side, then you can set The Xdecels to 0 and leave the Taus alone.

Thanks for the quick feedback. I like the way xTau works. I just don't want it on at idle. If I enter zero in x at 900 rpm it is adjusted to 5. If I enter zero in T at 900 rpm it is adjusted to 2. These low numbers (relative to other entries of 30% and 400 msec) seem to work OK, but they are not zero as described in the manual. While I'm asking, what are good starting point entries for deceleration? Thanks.

These limits are in the ini file not in the code. You can change them by, after making a copy of the original ini with a different name, bring it up in a text editor, and find the first instance of XAccTable. At the end of that line you will see the limits of 5.0 to 90.0. Change the 5.0 limit to 0.0. Right after that is the XDecelTable with the same limits. Also change that limit to 0.0 and save the file.

As far as entries for deceleration, start at XDecels = 0 and see what happens on a sudden stop and go up from there. Engines are much more forgiving in the decel direction.
