The MegaSquirt Project has experienced explosive growth other the years, with hundreds of new MS installations occurring every week - a phenomenal success! MegaSquirt has been successfully used in all aspects of Internal Combustion engine applications including R&D, Industry, Race, and Research. The MS project has transformed itself from a simple R&D project into a full-featured mature engine control system. To reflect this the support structure has also changed to meet the needs of MegaSquirt Users.
Moving forward, the R&D forums for MegaSquirt project are in a read-only mode - no new forum posts are accepted.
However the forums will remain available for view, they still contain a wealth of information on how MegaSquirt works, how it is installed and used. Feel free to search the forums for information, facts, and overview. While the R&D forum traffic has slowed in recent years, this is not at all a reflection of Megasquirt users, which continue to grow year after year. What has changed is that the method of MegaSquirt support today has rapidly moved to Facebook, this is where the vast majority of interaction is happening now. For those not on Facebook the msextra forums is another place for product support. Finally, for product selection assistance, all of the MegaSquirt vendors are there to help you select a system, along with all of the required pieces to make it complete.
For discussing Phil Tobin's TunerStudio MS is the MegaSquirt edition of TunerStudio, a next generation tuning application. It provides the ability to configure and tune all MegaSquirt controllers and is 100% compatible with MegaTune ini files and msq's.
Ok so i downloaded it into the desktop, and followed ALL the directions. When i try to open it from the shortcut on the desktop it tells me controller code does not match signature in Megasquirt-II.ini
It then says Expected "MSII Rev2.88600"(found in ini.file)
Recieved"0x51"(from controller)
table couruption could occur
Then it asks if i want to terminate Megatune now,if i click no it will open.Is this because i don't have my ecu hooked up to it or did i do something wrong in setup?
Thanks guys and PLEASE bear with me,i have never delt with any codeing before.
Could you make sure MegaTune is on the right COM port? 0x51 is usually the code it gets if it's on a fake diagnostic port that echoes back every symbol you send it.
I seem to be having port problems with the computer but cant seem to figure it out.when i run the portchecker.exe it comes back 4 available ports but doesn't see the megasquirt-II.I don't have anything else running(no printers or faxes that i can find). Can ya direct me as to where to look to make sure?
TunerStudio might make your life easier, it has a detect built in that filters echo ports and has the automatically sets you up with the right ini file for most current firmwares.
ok i found the com port under settings and sure enough it was set to 3 changed it to com1 and megatune will start no problem but after changing to com1 the box says click to test and i get no response (with the megasquirt hooked up and plugged in).I still am in bootloader mode and haven't gotten any communication with my ECM.
it was a blank(new)MS-II duaghterbouard with nothing in it.I think i figured it out(used a diffrent puter)i still think i had port problems.Thank you for your help.
