Hello everyone i just want some people to look over what i have so far for my wiring that i have done for my MS2. I have 2 wires i dont know were they should go so help with that would be great.

Setup is on my SR20DET swap miata running stock COPs.

Pin 2 I am unsure were it should go as i am using the edis.

Pin 7-10,18 i have grounded to both engine and chassis

Pin 19 I see it says its a sensor ground but not sure for what sensor.

Pin 20 IAT
Pin 21 CLT
Pin 22 TPS
Pin 23 AEM Wideband white wire
Pin 24 connected to pin 1 on EDIS
Pin 25 not used
Pin 26 TPS power +
Pin 27 not used
Pin 28 Main relay that also power injectors
Pin 29 not used
Pin 30 not used
Pin 31 not used
Pin 32 INJ 1&4
Pin 33 INJ 1&4
Pin 34 INJ 2&3
Pin 35 INJ 2&3
Pin 36 is connected to pin 3 on EDIS
Pin 37 is connected to fuel pump relay pin 85.

I checked all relays and they are all wired and functioning right.

Here is my wiring for the EDIS 4

Pin 1 goes to pin 24 on MS
pin 2 not used
pin 3 goes to pin 36 on MS
Pin 4 not used
pin 5 goes to VR ground -
Pin 6 goes to VR power +
Pin 7 is connected to MS shield and VR shield

Pin 8 goes to main relay for power + and also coil power, coil power wire has 47 microfarad capacitor that goes to ground.

Pin 9 goes to body ground
Pin 10 goes to COP 1&4 signal
Pin 11 goes to cluster tach on miata dash
Pin 12 goes to COP 2&3 signal

Please let me know about Pin 2 and 19 as i stated im not sure were they go. Also let me know if what i have is wright so far.

Thanks
mike

Mike,

Pin 2 is a ground, like several of the others on the top row of DB37 pins. For EDIS you don't need to connect it (the EDIS VR sensor has both wires going to the EDIS module).

Pin 19 is the ground for the low current sensors: CLT, IAT, TPS. Having these on a separate pin prevents the inputs circuits from seeing any voltage rises when high current (from the injector or ignition drivers) tries to flow down the ground wire. The pin 19 grounds to the same place on the PCB as the other grounds, but the sensors mentioned above should share a dedicated ground wire to avoid seeing the high current signals as noise that would distort the sensor readings.

Thanks man. One last question about the shielded wire now that i know that pin 2 is the shielded wire. On the diagram thats on mega manual it shows the shielded wire going to EDIS pin 7. Should i not hook the MS pin2 shielding wire to the pin 7>

Mike,

Shields should be grounded at one end only (to avoid 'ground loops': http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ground_loo ... tricity%29).

The shield is grounded at the EDIS module pin #7, and that is the only place it should be grounded.
