Does one crank trigger read more accurately than the other? Im using a gm crank sensor with an EDIS Wheel 36-1, I lose RPM around 5000, drops to 0 on my logs and makes car go nuts?

What gap are you running between the sensor and wheel?
I am getting very good performance (like 7000 rpm & ~405 hp) with my 36-1 wheel using a Ford sensor.

1/8'' of a inch. We rented the track yesterday and my tuner told me to back it alittle away from the wheel and the car cound'nt even idle so i moved it back. Do u have a part # for that crank sensor , i was told that ford crank sensor is alot more accurate....

The clearance on mine (Ford one used with an EDIS module) is 1mm

WOW, Dave's is even closer than mine!(1mm=.040 I think) I run mine at about .050 and it works very well. An 1/8 (.125 in.) is WAY large IMHO.
Before you give up on your GM sensor though, try closing up the gap to somewhere between .040 and .060 and see what it does. In the mean time I will try to get a Ford # for you.

IIRC, the spec for the Ford sensor is 0.75 mm to 1.5 mm (0.030 to 0.060 inch) so I set mine in the middle. As usual. ;-)

This is the Ford sensor to use. Don't have Ford pn. This is a Delphi pn. SS10228. E-bay item # 270680901133. Listed by E-bay seller vpartswarehouse.

Just for information....
That is the EXACT sensor that I use. Works very well for me!
BUT, I would still recommend adjusting the gap on your GM sensor before replacing it. Just one old guy's opinion of course!

I am using a Subaru crank vr sensor on a ebay 36-1 steel wheel. This is on a VG30 Nissan engine. Timing is solid throughout the RPMs.
