Coil pack performance question.

I'm new to the whole DIY tuner scene i was just wondering if there was a difference in performance between having a single coil controlling 4 plugs, and having individual Coils on each cylinder?

Thanks

Since the COP is fired every 4th time, this allows for more dwell and higher RPM range.

The benefit of individual coils is longer available dwell / charging time before each spark; a single coil firing multiple plugs has to fire far more often than a COP arrangement. At higher revs, it is entirely possibly that the charging / firing cycle of one plug begins to overlap the next, meaning that the charging time gets short-changed, and the spark gets weaker. For a COP installation, the revs have to get pretty high before you run into charging limitations...
