hard miss at 3000 rpms

Post by thowey »

I've been a lurker for a while but now i am in dire straits and need some assistance. the quick intro is; i am running a v3 MS2 with EDIS 4 on an 1980 BMW 320i with 9 psi from a T3 turbocharger.

i've been running great for almost 2 years, no recent changes have been made to my tune or setup. lately i am losing my tach signal and getting a hard miss at 2900 to 3000 rpm. the car runs great up until and well over that small window but if held at cruising speed, at 3000 rpms, the car will actually miss couch and die.

i've verified the integrity of my wiring for the EDIS, swapped modules and adjusted the air gap for the vr sensor. i even replaced my alternator that was only charging 13V.

please give me some ideas or places to start. coil pack? main board?

poor connection at the vr. still don't know why it only missed at such a specific rpm range but its fixed.
