Problem with Erratic Firing.

I got my MSII running, fuel only, but I can't seem to eliminate what feels like a really bad missing. AFAIK the car was running fine before I installed the MSII, but I've been struggling with this as soon as I started it up after the installation. I've changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor so now I'm starting to suspect the MSII may be the culprit. The car idles fine, rock solid, but once I get off idle it will miss all day long. If the injector settings are good enough for it to idle well, could it still cause the solenoids to to exhibit erratic behavior at normal driving RPMs? What am I overlooking?
Thanks

Please post a data log of the problem happening and a copy of the MSQ file - this will give us more info to go by.

thr3shold,

All sorts of things could cause this. So as Matt says we need a MSQ and a datalog.

For example, if you have low impedance injectors and the PWM% is set too low, the injectors might open fine at idle (where most of the pulse width is in the 100% PWM Time Threshold) but not open at longer pulse widths (where most of the PW is not at 100%).

Tuning issues (fuel or spark), trigger offset incorrectly set, incorrect tach signal masking settings, and many other things can cause this too.

Lance.

Soooo....
Some how a bunch of junk data found its way into my tunes. I've been running on 8 port injectors with some weird flow rate and a narrow band on my dual injector TBI wideband setup. Back to square one.

Finally scrubbed all the bad data and it is running like it should and I can now begin to tune it.
