CIS to EFI Injector Question

So I've got a 1990 300SE that's got me fed up with its awful KE-Jet system, and I decided to EFI it with an MS1 v3 I had sitting around, piggybacking it on top of the original ECU, letting it control spark.
Now I've literally searched for hours, and one thing I cannot find is what kind of injectors can fit into the original recess, or whether I need a bung/machining to make them fit. I've looked at a myriad of different bodied injectors and none seem to look like
the CIS injector/holder units I removed during a changeout. Most injectors I've found are fairly short and fat where the CIS injectors were much longer and narrower.
Is there a specific body of injector that will snug right in? Or is this going to require some modifications and/or a machine shop trip?

I've never seen a direct drop in EFI replacement for mechanical injectors.

Hi.
I have squirted a number of M103 engines that had KE Jetronic.
The best part was dumping the KE Jet stuff! Felt great
I have used normal type injectors with the conical spray pattern. Cars run great!
PM me with an email adress, I will send engine pictures and also well tested msq.
And while you are at it, also convert to EDIS 6 to get rid of the original ignition, which is 95 % perfect but very much let down by the distributor cap which seems to last around 20.000 km at best .

so I've already finished megasquirt on my W124 Mercedes engine ce m 103rd is great! but I'll probably have to finish EDIS because the distributor is not good. just do not know how it is controlled with IAC. I use a stepper motor. speed needed to move when I picked up the speed and do not know how. For this purpose, while use of other ventyl operated from Port 3
thank you

Well what do you know, this is still here...
After some success and then re-failure, I've deemed something is seriously wrong with my K-jet system so I'm digging this idea back up and committing to it.
I've decided to use the Bosch EV6 style injectors and gone ahead and purchased a fuel rail from the later 104 engine, but the megamanual flow calculator said to make the same amount of power the K-jet did, I'd need 19.4lb/hr injectors. The guys with 2.6s use 19lb/hr injectors with great success, but 20lb injectors simply don't exist, it would seem. I know using too big an injector will cause idle problems, and the nearest I could find is 24lb. That shouldn't be big enough to cause problems, will it? Or is a little 3L engine making 177HP and revving only to about 6200RPM going to max out 19lb units?
(Also HeriBert, if you're still here I'd love the pictures and msq file.)

Realistically, I wouldn't expect any problems other than being a little difficult to get it leaned out at idle possibly. I did find that you can get EV6 injectors in 21 lb or so from ford 4.6 and 5 lite applications. I got mine from a Crown Victoria.
Also, try testing the size that you are considering in your tuning software of choice and see how the respond to the estimated fueling demand, both at warm idle for the lowest demand, as well as at full throttle, watching the duty cycle that the software end up calling for.
A bit of testing this easy with varying glow rates can save buying a set that you can't use, or let you figure out that changing the pulses per cycle can keep an otherwise unuseable set to work for you.

That EV12 injector looks like what the doctor ordered for those of us doing Delorean conversions. We had the K-Jet system and scrapping it has meant finding a replacement manifold (like the Peugeot 604 like I did), or the current prototype work we are doing using the stock manifolds and 19# injectors in the stock CIS injector holes. This would appear to have been successful but I'm sure the injectors are spraying more on the walls of the bung holes than directly towards the valve. Deeper injectors like the CIS would help I'm sure. At $96 a pop, I don't think we'll be trying for the fun of it however. None of my usual sources seem to have any used ones.
