TS 1.14.1 Problems

I upgraded and the car cannot stay connected. Never had issues of freezing before, but nowI do. I cannot drive and log, its terrible. Sometimes at idle the car won't stay. I read somewhere that the newest version has problems, can I down grade to 1.0 or something because I didn't have any issues when using that.

The other night I started it and I thought I saw smoke from near the coils. I shut the car off and now it won't start. turns over but no spark. Good tune file is loaded. Going to check coils and icm etc.

One thought, I had charging problems (alt going bad) could a loss of current or power be to blame for hurting the ignition?

Also, why do ost of my files change to null in the signature after I use them for some time?

I am running

MS 2 V3
TS 1.14.1
2.6 code

Thanks

Eric

Yes, you can download and install 1.004 again, that is what is out there as the stable release right now, the beta is up to 1.16.2

There have been reports of comms problems on 1.14, it seems to effect less than 1%, but if you are 1 of them, that is no fun.

It will be worked out before the next stable release is out.

What type of files?
Is this with the 1.14 or with 1.004?

1.14. Ok well I will just download the 1.004. Where is the best place to get it. Do I delete anything I currently have or what?

The link in my signature or:
http://tunerstudio.com/index.php/downloads

You shouldn't need to delete anything. You can install it in parallel by giving it a different install dir too.

The 1 issue you may experience going from 1.14 to 1.004 is that you might get an OutputChannel not found error from a dashboard.

If you do, just reload the dash in 1.004 and it will be fixed. Or use a new/different project for 1.004.

Ok thanks. Not to be stupid but can you literally walk me through the steps to make sure that I do it properly. I get confused with all of the downloads.

Phil, from your experience, can a short in the alternator wiring cause a ign fuse to blow? Twice I have started the car and the ICM does not have power, b/c the ign fuse blew. This problem is brand new, and today I noticed a wire from the alternator (small one coming from the plug in the top) close to the header and although I can't see it b/c its down low, it is very brittle and burnt.

Going to look into tomorrow, this could be why my battery isn't chanring well!

I'll keep you posted.

Eric

I don't think there are many ways you can go wrong.
Download:
http://tunerstudio.com/downloads/TunerS ... v1.004.exe

Run the install wizard.
Start it from the icon.

It should still have all your settings and preferences, and open your last project. If you do get an OutputChannel warning:
- Right Click on the Main Dashboard
- Select: "Load / Save" --> "Load Dashboard"
- Select the Dash you want in the Dialog
- Click OK

Thanks, any thoughts on the Alternator wire question?

On many alternators there are two wires. The thick one is the output which is connected directly to the battery. The thin one goes to the warning light. The warning light is connected first to the ignition circuit and then to the alternator. It supplies a 12v signal to the alternator regulator, as well as telling if it is charging or not. It carries very little current so can't think why it would melt.
