MS II V3 2.89 code

i assembled my kit all the way to the rpm section. i i selected the vr circuit originlly but had no success in getting the pots tuned for a rpm. so i read in the forum to change it over to the hall circuit so did that and no success again. as of this moment i have xg2-xg1, TSEL-OPTOOUT, TACHSELECT-OPTOIN, JS10-IGBTIN, IGBTOUT-IGN. I will enclose my msq file i dont know if i have any rpm killers or not.... any help would be appreciated as i have spent countless hours tring to check my work and re check my work.
Thanks in advance
Adam

No obvious RPM killers. What sort of Stim do you have?

any ideas or suggestions on how to trouble shoot my rpm issue? is there any way to check the q22 and q23 transistors? i had a hard time soldering them in the first time

With the Megasquirt powered up, apply 12 volts to pin 24 or TachSelect, and check the voltage on the TSEL jumper with a voltmeter. You should read zero volts. Next, ground pin 24 so it has no volts on the input circuit, and check TSEL's voltage again. You should see 5 volts there. Let me know what you find.

with the mega squirt powered up i have 5 volts at TSEL. when i add 12 volts to TACHSELECT nothing changes. When I ground it I still have 5 volts.

If you had problems soldering Q22 &23, you're likely using solder which is too thick and or a iron bit which is too. Best solder IMHO is 0.6mm 60/40 and an iron bit of about 1mm.

Check those solder joints with a strong magnifying glass for shorts.

I dont have a megnifiing glass handy ill have to go to town to get one in the next day or so then inspect the solders. i started out using too large of solder and too large of a bit then i bought the right tools to do the job. those were the first ones that i tried to solder.

Check the voltage at both sides of R39 when you have 12 volts at TachSelect and let me know what you find.

i didtn have anything in d1 d2 was jumpered. i looked a the instructions again and found a missing jumper in d1. would the missing jumper in d1 cause the vr circuit to not work? If it wouldnt matter if it was there or not how would i start to trouble shoot the vr circuit?

Well, you said you're not using the VR circuit. If D1 is empty, the Hall/optical input isn't going to work.

i need to use the vr circuit for its what the toyota uses. i read in the forums to change it to a hall or opitcal to see if your o2 works. down the road i might switch it to a hall sensor so it needs to work also. but for now i need the vr circuit to work.

So are you getting RPM from the Hall circuit yet? This one is easier to troubleshoot, and if a working Hall input circuit isn't giving you RPM, you will want to solve that before you try the VR circuit.

Ok. And this goes away when you switch to the VR circuit? I'd try adjusting the trim pots first.
