Hi guys

Im a bit of a newb to all of this megasquirt stuff and i want to know how difficult it is to connect my megasquirt to one of the new quad spark ignition modules.

I have a MegaSquirt-II EMS System - SMD PCB3.57 which i bought about 2 months ago which i havent installed into the car yet but as i wan ignition control i think this may be my best option.

The car is currently running a electronic distributor with internal ignitors, it is also locked because i was previously using it in a carby/boosted setup where i didnt want any ignition advance. Now i do want control so is this my best option?

Is there much internal wiring that needs to be done to the pcb

Cheers
Matthew

This is covered in the QuadSpark documentation.

Ok. So can I still use my distributor for for the crank trigger?

You can do - but it's not ideal. Cam chains stretch and gears chatter. Simplest way is a crank sensor and wasted spark.

This is true. Just going to be hard to fit a trigger wheel in with all the supercharger gear.

They seem to work ok sandwiched between two pulleys - provided the sensor can be correctly positioned.
