MSefi.com read only forum (Jan.15,2018)

Got a few issues with my MegaSquirt
done all the checks on wiring loom and plugged in the ecu.. Turned it on and the middle LED ilumminated and the fuel pump primed up. the Led went out and the pump cut out i take it it has a prime function installed i then connected up my laptop and got comunication i then went threw the setup untill i got to the bit for the air temperature sensor where i noticed the reading was 1750 so i disconectted the sensor and it still had the same reading so turned off the ignition and re checked the resistance and wiring to which was ok..
I then replaced the wiring loom to the Ecu and reconected the laptop i turned on the ignition and all the same.. I then tried to regain comunnication and Nothing!! i've checked everthing and can't find nothing wrong but can't communicate with the Ecu so dont know what to try..

Also i noticed the map sensor reading was fluctuating with out the engine running?

Any ideas would be helpfull
What should i try or check??

Been reading abit on this problem and think it could be a comunication fault with the hardware i'm using..

i have been tryin to use a pcmcia to twin serial port 9 pin connector rs232 from maplins..

Is this adequate to run megasquirt tuning software and communicate with the ecu ??

What ya think any ideas where i'm going wrong???

Windows XP is fine; a lot of the tuning software can run on much cruder laptops.

What firmware do you have installed?
