Mazda 1.8 16v not starting with MS-II

Hi guys,
I am new to this forum and I need your help. I hope I've started this thread in the right place. We have an engine in our mazda which was running stationairy and driving with the same setup but the whole ms-II setup including ignition is bolted over to another mazda engine. Strangely it does not work anymore. The exhaust manifold is flooded with petrol and won't start.
The setup was originaly on a Mazda 1.8 GTX (turbo) and that worked fine until a faulty wastegate screwed up the whole engine. We had a non-turbo 1.8 standing in the corner of the workshop (basically the same engine) and decided to use that one to keep the car driveable for the time being.
picture of the engine is here
Some details:
Mazda 1.8 dohc 16v
MS-II v3.0
EDIS4 Motorcraft ignition module
Motorcraft EDIS coilpack
36-1 Triggerplate
VR sensor
GM Open element IAT sensor
GM 3 bar map sensor
FSE powerboost valve
Walbro 255l/ph pump
Custom made billet fuelrail
590cc Delphi high impedance injectors
Innovate Motorsports LC-1 wide lamdasensor
Things we checked:
Coilpack works (bought 2 extra packs to be sure)
Triggerplate is set-up correct (the same as on the turbo) and is 90° ahead of the VR sensor, just as te manual describes. Settings in tunerstudio are correctly as supposed to the settings in the manual. These settings were working on the turbo'd engine.
Compression and engine timebelt; both correct.
All leads seems to spark properly
We have tried to start with the fuel pressure as low as the FSE pressure valve lets us. No change, exhaust manifold flooded. Tried to change the Injector control with the built-in calculator and set it to 5.2 (2.6msec). On the turbo'd engine it was on 12 (we are still not sure if this was correct). No effect, even with the required fuel setting on 3.5 it does not do anything else but flood the damn thing. Changing about with the trigger offset does not tell us much.
Fuelmap (AFR targets) is checked, used a default and clean map, no luck there also.
Switching over the leads from cilinder 1&4 and 2&3 does not help either. While cranking it seems to work against itself.
As you can see, I am lost.
Were to start to get this thing running again?
