V3.0 board, v2.905.abs.s19 successfully loaded onto MSII, Using TunerStudioMS Light........

I have scoured forums and the manual on this and apologize in advance if this is common knowledge or answered elswhere. As the subject states I am on step 41 in the V3 assembly manual for MSII. I have a serial connection (previous test), I have the proper port chosen. The volt gauge is working accurately. But the clock keeps going and going and going. The manual states that it should loop around at 255 seconds. Not mine though. Any thoughts for this newbie?

The variable 'secl' counts from 0-255, but 'seconds' counts from 0 to 65535 (for MS-II). The clockGauge uses the 'seconds' value, so it will count way up (for over 18 hours!), and this is fine.

The main thing you are looking for is that:
- it does count up (i.e. it doesn't stay at zero), and
- it doesn't return to zero before reaching a reasonable value (otherwise you are having processor restes, and this indicates build or power supply problems).

I have added the roll-over values to the assembly manual.

Fantastic, Lance! Thank you for the help and also your quick follow up in the manual. I'm anxious now to move on to the next steps in my assembly.

So to clarify for anyone else that may get utility out of this thread: If all is working well at step 41 on a V3 MSII build, the needle on the gauge will increment one second at a time and just loop around the face of the gauge. The "ticker style" numeric readout near the center of the gauge will increment into the thousands before reverting to zero (for MSII).

If I could make one more suggestion for step 41, the first sentence is written to help the TunerStudio novice change one of the gauges in the default dashboard. I would detail that you need to "right" click while your pointer is over any one of the gauges. I follow instructions explicitly so when it says to just click on one of the gauges, I instinctively just used the left button since it is the more commonly used mouse button. I spent far too much time trying to figure out where the clock was in TunerStudio. A little embarrassing but true.
