so i have pcb2.2 with ms2 daughter card 2.892 firmwear

i'm trying to convert to blue tooth i bought the adapter from efianalitics, read the bluetooth section in the megamanual. i understand i have to detach pin 9 from the db9 and i need to get 5v to that pin i was wondering were should i get the 5v from??? processor pin 1,20,31??

also it said that you might need a larger heat sink for the regulator. i was thinking that meant voltage regulator u5???? if so would you get a small square of copper and a longer plastic screw??? is it necessary??? is there a better way to do the heat sink???

Thanks all help is greatly appreciated!!!

ds42,

On a V2.2 PCB, I would get the 5V from either:

- the small via just to the left of C10 and D4 (to the left of the CPU), or

- the leg of L1 (one of two small coils of copper just to the left of the CPU socket).

Whichever you choose, make sure it has 5V on it when MS is powered before you solder anything (but remove the power wile soldering).

If the regulator gets too hot to touch with your fingertip while powered, then the heat sink needs to be added (or made bigger).
