hi all! i wonder if microsquirt can be connected to android tablet through serial/usb adapter, not through the blu tooth adapter? thanks for replies in advance!

Not yet. Android did not support USB host mode, so there could be no drivers for USB to serial cables. This has changed with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) so it is now possible on many devices. FTDI is already working on drivers, I will be adding it shortly.

if so, will TS or VE Live available for Android devices that would make a lot of easier to tune or log car with handy device rather then with laptop. 7 inch tablet would be grate solution.

Yes I will have a Tuning app for Android. That is my top long term goal and it is in process. However it is a large effort, so will take a bit more time. By the start of next season there will be a version available for public use. Similar to TS, it was under development for over a year and a half before the 1st alpha was ready for public use, then has had 4 more years work put into it since.

With Android there is a jump start as I am using many TunerStudio components in the Android version, but every last UI piece needs to be rewritten, right down to most UI widgets.

good to hear, as i dont want to but Windows based tablet/phone and VE live used that way will be outstanding solution.

I've purchased all of your applications / apps and the serial > BT dongle from you ( I haven't really gotten to use them yet tho - haha ) but what about an instrument cluster app? I just snagged a 10" ICS tablet with GPS + Accelerometer and would love to turn it into a customizable instrument cluster. ;) If you're not planning it, I guess I'll have to learn Android development ( I do x360 / PS3 / PC game development ) cuz I just GOTTA have a tablet instrument cluster!

Short term I may drop a microATX in the trunk and RDP to it from the Tablet but you can't just climb in the car and go - gotta wait for everything to wake up & sync.

Yep, shadow loggerhas been out for a while, it is a basic logging app.
But, the new app is in final testing and a whole lot more rich.
