RPM shown in Tuner studio not realistic

After assistance from the group, I figured out why and corrected the no tach/rpm signal issue. Now the data logs show the engine is running and way above any realistic RPM, instead of showing it is cranking. Thus there is no fuel being injected. I'm running a ms2 2.905 fuel only with the tach signal coming in on 24 from the MSD tach adapter and a v3 board . This is an upgrade from a v3 running MS1. This v3 board also did not have all the ignition parts for both hall, opto, points and VR. Since the input to the tach came from the MSD tach adapter for MS1, I simply used that input with the addition of the jumper from js10 to ign. That solved the no tach signal only to give me the opposite problem.

I have attached the data logs for an attempted start, and a stim run, along with my current msq settings.

Any thoughts or direction would be appreciated.

Two more attachments that didn't make it the first try.

You don't have pin 36 connected to anything, do you?

Pin 36 in not connected to anything. Should it be?

Matt,

Is there any reason in a fuel only application for JS10 to be jumpered to ign? In looking at the schematics, it would appear that the tach signal comes in on 24 through the optoisolator and into the 40 pin socket and into the CPU and doesn't need to go further. Is that correct, or am I missing something.

Thanks for your help.

I disconnected the js10 to ign jumper and the tach is still way high by about 100 times. The ign light on the stim doesn't light as would be expected with the jumper removed. Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing that makes the tach signal that the cpu sees off by about 100 times? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

In retrospect, it was the removal of C12 and not the addition of the js10 to IGN jumper that got the tach signal going. Do I maybe need C12 but a different size, or am I all wet and completely out of the ball park? Sorry for the number of posts, but as I experiment and think my way through the situation it should be communicated. Thanks for your input and patience.

I have success. The engine started and runs nicely. To recap, the no tach signal had to do with the c12 capacitor which was still in place from the MS1 install. The rpm reading had to do with D1 being shorted as an attempt to figure ourt the no tach signal. The jumper was removed. The setting in Megalog viewer also had the rpm setting at "times 100" which gave the really bizar readings along with not having any cranking pulse width since it thought the engine was running.

With the above solved, it was noted that the "ECU not set" was indicated. That was resolved by downloading and reinstalling the appropriate .s19 and ini files and setting up Tuner studio again.

On the next attempt, the "flood clear off" was indicated, and that was resolved by setting the TPS to 50 from the 10 that was there. With that change, the engine ran and stayed running.

Thanks to all that made suggestions and put up with my rambling as I worked my way through the problems.
