Bridged pins 13 and 14 on MAX232 (did I hurt it?)

My MS1, V3.0 has been powered up with pin 13 (R1in) and pin 14 (T1out) on the MAX232 solder bridged. I discovered this during troubleshooting bad comms (wasn't able to get a boot prompt to load new firmware). Question now is, did I fry anything by powering it up in this condition? Did I kill the MAX232 and/or any other components? I am tempted to simply fix the solder bridge and try it again, but would rather know ahead of time if any components are likely dead at this point.

Thanks,

Bill

It is unlikely that you fried anything by bridging those particular pins. If it was me I'd remove the solder bridge and proceed from there.

Thank you Ken.

After looking closer at the schematics, and discussing with a friend who is more literate than I regarding these matters, it sounds like everything should still function properly.

Thanks again,

Bill
