Been tuning the car in the shed now for a few days. Every session I've managed to get the motor running better and better. Every cold start I've taken the opportunity to tweak the cranking PW and ASE, then the WUE followed by no-load dialling-in of the VE table to keep the signal from my NB sensor close to 0.5 volts, just to give a datum point to know relationships between PW's, speed density and AFR. The learning process has been almost painful in it's intensity, both satisfying and fun.
Then the other day I was playing around, and decided to shut down (heater hose had sprung a leak). Went to re-start and she'd kick over while cranking then die. Strange, checked the ASE at hot and saw it set to 100%, or none, and had a couple more goes. This is wierd, started tweaking ASE and hot start settings with little or no difference. After about ten minutes, noticed the fuel pumps sounded a bit different, like... They had no load...oh dear. I am a goose. Yes folks. Out of petrol.
