I'd like to have the EDIS module to control/fire a single coil via a distributor.

Reason is that I want the engine to look almost stock. (Ignition only install)

Would it be as simple as just connecting both channels to the single coil? (I suspect the coil wouldn't fire once/if the dwell of each channel overlapped)

Any ideas?

I'm confused as to why you want to use the EDIS module? That is designed to only accept a trigger input from a VR sensor on a 36-1 wheel. And provide outputs to wasted spark coils. If you wish to trigger from a dizzy and use a single coil, MS can do this itself. If you want to map the ignition, you'd normally lock the advance retard in the dizzy and do it via MS.

I want EDIS accuracy (and tune-ability), but I want it to 'look' like I am using a normal distributor set-up.

ie. You can plainly see the HT lead going from a single coil to the distributor cap!

I will obviously be running a VR + Trigger wheel.

I know this does not seem like a logical thing to do, but there is some method in my madness... Trust me! ;)

Sorry, I see your point... doh!

If you're happy with a crank mounted trigger wheel, that would be much preferable to using an internal dizzy trigger. Just use the dizzy to send the spark to the correct plug.
But still no need for the EDIS module.

Yeah, that's how I did my BMW... I was barking up the wrong tree as I already have an EDIS kit looking for an application. I'm considering Megajolt, as this is spark only.

You can use a Megasquirt ignition only - and still have the choice to add injection later on.

Yeh, would be perfect for MicroSquirt...
