Second time user but newby installer. On my first attempt, with a lot of assistance from a capable friend all went well. Excellant product. For the second project I am installing MS-II onto a 4.6L Range Rover motor build into a Land Rover Defender. It used to be a Diesel vehicle, thus it was a major process. Before I caal in the cavalry, I would like to see how far i could get on my own. Firstly, MS-II, with the original Coil pack, and sensors of the vehicle, where do I find the software for this module to start programming with.

You can get the TunerStudio tuning software from tunerstudio.com.

If you wish to use the RV8 coil packs with MS, you either have to go EDIS with B&G code - or go to Extra Code which has its own forum. You'll also need to install extra coil drivers to an MS2 with Extra Code. EDIS has its own coil drivers, and will work with B&G code. I'm using EDIS on my earlier RV8 - a 3.5 - and an MS2 with B&G code using the flapper injection manifold injectors and sensors.

Thanks all, I was hoping Icould do it with MS-II and EDIS. Sounds if this is the easiest. LEt me go do my homework.

Is your engine a 'Thor' - the one with the bunch of bananas inlet manifold as designed by BMW? Earlier ones had a rectangular plenum with trumpets inside. The Thor unit gives more low speed torque - but is not so good at the top end, so isn't much favoured in the UK. There are many MS units running the earlier engine in all its versions, but I dunno of anyone with a Thor and MS. Not that it should be a problem.
