Hello,

Just bought a mini anternator rated at 45a. Its a 1 wire alternator and its specs it goes up to ~60A in high revs. Would like to know if this can feed my car. V8 318 dart with megasquirt Efi, electric fuel pump, 8 fl injectors and Msd coil... Nothing else.. No sound and nothing else..

Is it too bad to have this "low" amaperage? Can i face performance issues?

45 amps will probably handle most anything you will need. Personally, I would prefer to use something that is rated quite a bit higher though.
Remember, it's not just about the alternator! Battery amp hour rating also weighs in here. For example, cranking a big, high compression v8 along with lots of other electrical load will certainly dictate a high battery rating. The alternator is then responsible for recharging the battery fairly quickly and maintaining that charge while also servicing the electrical load presented by all the other power consuming equipment in your car.

Bottom line...... On average, bigger is better!

Just my humble opinion of course.............

Yes you certainly can! If the electrical load exceeds the ability of the alternator to maintain the battery at full charge you are likely to see undesirable voltage variations that can directly effect your tune etc.
