high kPa at idle

Hello all,

I'm in my stages of working out the idle on my project. I've got what I think is a decent idle however I have things in my log that I have questions on. I have attached the log and my latest map. Here are a specs.

2276cc Air-cooled VW
SLR XR-302 cam
DRD L6 heads
CB Performance dual 48mm TB
Bosch 192cc injectors
Sidewinder exhaust
LC-1 with Digital gauge
MS II Rev. 2.89000\EDIS4

A couple of things that pop out at me (granted my eye is not as trained as others):

kPa appears to be high. My setup comes from each manifold to a vacuum log and then to the MS II.
My AFR is all over the place. The location of the bung is at the collector. I get a little steady but I see spikes and valleys.

I'm looking for any input as well as directly on the kPa numbers.

thanks everyone

Looks like an intermittent missfire. Also, have you confirmed timing is OK?

Thanks for the reply Matt.

Checked timing today at idle and at 3k and it's good. I did find an exhaust leak so my AFR is probably bouncing around because of that.

Any input on the high kPa?

Hi,
Something does look odd....
I have a somewhat similar motor...only 103 by 80 with a split duration cam.
I idle in the high 50 to low 60kpa. my idle is high at around 1200rpm but really doesn't change if I lower it to around 800. Still 58 to 62 kPa. I thought about using a smaller orifice restriction in my vacuum line. I am just using the 4 vacuum lines to a fuel filter.

You might want to check if you have any filtering of the map signal. beyond that, I am no help. my motor is old, but been off the road for 8 years. Just got it back driving in the last week or so. Lots to relearn and test. herb
