MS2 TFI high current mod question

Hi, Ken here, I've had some problems getting MS2 operating but Matt and Ben at DIY helped a bunch. I'm finishing up the build but came a cross a conflict. In step 65 for the high current driver a pull-up resistor is installed between s12 and ign/igbtout jumper. The instructions say 1K ohm but the MegaSquirt your 5.0L Mustang instructions say a 100 ohm resistor. Which should it be and since I'm using the 60 pin adapter board, do I need it at all? thanks....Ken.

When it comes to instructions with options, the specific always overrides the general. If you look just at the second paragraph of step 65, before you get to the section on installing the BIP you see a selection of ignition types - including the Ford TFI. Follow that link, and the instructions are to use a 100 Ohm resistor. Why it needs that much current, I dunno - but it should work, and shouldn't hurt anything.

Thanks, that's a good tip by always going to any specific link. That link also verifies the use of a 1K resistor in the D2 position instead of a jumper. Thanks again....Ken.
