possible?

Is it possible to convert an old hei distributor to use a 7 pin module? OR even use a pertronix pickup to use as an input to that same module mounted externally with a heat sink? I'm wanting to put sequential port efi on my 468 olds engine. Distributors are the hard to work around part. Thanks for any replies and I hope I'm not posting incorrectly.

Almost any dizzy using a vr sensor will work with an HEI 7/8 mounted externally.
Distributors are the hard to work around part.
That is
exactly why I trashed mine in favor of a crank mounted wheel.

EDIT: FWIW,
here are some pics of mine after I got tired of watching it go round and round!

So if I were to go crank trigger I could also use an edis type ignition system? How would this be possible with no cam synch? I see you run tbi. Bank fired? Sequential port does still require 2 sensors or 1 dual outlet sensor correct? Hey, thanks for the reply. Engine still at machine show so adding whatever I have to is not a problem. Just PLEASE keep the cost down.

Yes, you can certainly run EDIS with a 36-1 crank wheel. I ditched my EDIS a long time ago and now run LS2 logic level coils in wasted spark.

It's not! You must have a cam sensor in order to run sequential injection.
I see you run tbi. Bank fired?
Inj 1 runs the front (primary) injectors and Inj 2 runs the rear in a staged fashion.

Correct!

EDIT: Understand..... I am
not a MS expert but, it just occurred to me that, in order to run full sequential, you have to also run Extra code. If I'm wrong one of the guru's will surely come by and slap me stupid!

Think you'll have to go Extra for sequential. The signal required for cam position is much simpler than the crank trigger one. A disc with a simple cut-out in it will usually do. If your dizzy has mechanical advance, you can sometimes modify the base disc the springs are attached to to provide this and fit a hall effect sensor. Most wouldn't want a full sized dizzy with no plug leads as it might look silly, so cut it down.
But ask in the Extra forum as many have done this.
