V Ref - without an Accessory position on the key switch

OK guys, I have another "OLD" car I’m doing. A ’47 Crosley. I’m using an 8 pin HEI which uses V-Ref for timing. The key positions are OFF – RUN – START. "NO" accessory position, which would allow a relay to control V-Ref for cranking, like a normal car.

I would like to keep V-Ref OFF until it starts (300 RPM).
May I use “Max cranking speed”, 300 shown, the engine cranks at about 150.
Please tell me if this will work, or if there's a different/better way?

Thanks guys
Holl

You can use a spare output that triggers once RPM > 300 to turn on the relay.

Thanks Matt.
I should have thought to use the F Idle output.
This will be another one of my mileage makers.

Thanks again, Matt.
