First Megasquirt Assembling. Half way.

Dear All,

I bought my first MS-II v3.0 card with the simulator MegaStim v2.21

I'm at the assemblying stage. Right now I have reached step 55 of the documentation. The chose on the way was the Hall sensor, and I jumped the steps for the VR. Uploaded code version 2.920 and used the .ini provided with the code.

Testing the circuit now with the simulator, appears that the RPM doesn't work at all. Neither the CLT has any effect (even if I don't know which effect it should have).
Anyway, TPS and YAT works quite good, and the O2 works restarting the board everytime.

Looking at the troubleshooting guide, I didn't find anything. I have already setup the jumpers XG2-XG1, TSEL-OPTOUT and TACHSELECT-OPTOIN. Battery voltage is 9.0 V

Where can I start looking at?

Thanks for the help.

Let's test the opto input circuit. With the Megasquirt powered up, apply 12 volts to pin 24 or TachSelect, and check the voltage on the TSEL jumper with a voltmeter. You should read zero volts. Next, ground pin 24 so it has no volts on the input circuit, and check TSEL's voltage again. You should see 5 volts there. Let me know what you find.

Latest Stims have a PNP/NPN switch which doesn't seem to be covered in the instructions - but I'd guess changes the polarity of the output. Since you're using the opto input, I'd say polarity matters - so have you tried changing it?

As regards the CTS (and ATS) have you entered a calibration?

Tuner Studio - Tools - calibrate thermistor tables - CTS/ATS. I'm not sure there is anything loaded with the basic code. Any of the common types will do to test things with a Stim - obviously you'll have to set it correctly later for your actual ones.

I'm also in the middle of assembling my ms2 v3.0. Not sure if this will help but it fixed my "no rpm" issue. Go into Tuner Studio and configure your ignition. For me I had to set it to "Basic Triger" for example. You want to make sure the software is looking for the kind of signal the ms2 is set up for.
