I am in the middle of changing my small-block chevy from an electronically controlled HEI system to EDIS-8. I was planning on building a bracket to mount the new coils AND the EDIS module on the back of the motor where the distributor used to be. I got to worrying about having the EDIS module too close to the coils. Will it be ok to have everything packaged in the same location like I have described, or could I be risking picking up noise in the EDIS module from the coils that would cause me problems?

Talking out my butt here, but I suspect that keeping the EDIS module somewhat removed from the coils would be a good idea. On the other hand I have had occasion to look under the hood of some small Fords and IIRC the modules were not a long a distance from the coils either..................

Everything helps! I have concerns about it too, it just seems like sometimes I worry too much about stuff that doesn't matter, especially when I don't really know much about it. Never hurts to ask those who have been there before.
I made what I think is a sweet bracket last night that bridges the back of the intake and mounts off the 4 rear intake bolts. I think some Fords used a similar mount on the front of the intake from the factory that the coils sit on. But when I mounted my coils and module to it, everything is so close, I got to worrying about it.
