Fast Idle LED (FIDL) Jim Stim

Hello,
MS II is almost done (still have to invert the tach signal for GM 4.3l).
Running the tests toward the end of the manual right after installing the LEDs for the outside.

All of the LEDs (D14, D15, and D16) work as they are supposed to according to the manual.

The fuel pump LED on the Jim Stim even works

However, no matter what the conditions are the fast idle LED (FIDL) on the jim stim will NOT light.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if this is a problem with the jim stim or the MS II?
Also is this if this is a problem with the Jim Stim, can I move on with my MS II and start wiring it into the vehicle?

As always I appreciate all feed back and thank everyone for their time.

Will

Assuming it's a standard Fidle circuit, it is the same as the fuel pump relay driver. To test those driver circuits, the easy way is to remove the daughter card, and put to one side. Power the MS up with the JimStim attached, and pick up 5 v from the proto area and run it to pin 34 on the 40 pin socket. The Fidle LED on the Stim should now light. To check, you can do the same to pin 33 - the fuel pump LED should light.

This checks the driver circuits and Stim LEDs etc are OK. Leaving the most likely cause if they don't light to be software.

Thanks Dave,

I did those tests. Here are the results I got:

A) 5 volts from proto area to pin 34 lights the FIDL (fast idle) led
B) 5 volts from proto area to pin 33 lights the FP (fuel pump) led.

Now, I am not sure why I can not get the FIDL led to light up when I have it running with tuner studios and I adjust the coolant temp pot below 145 degrees.

So since I passed that test it is the software on the daughter card? How would I fix that ?

How about a quick look at your msq?
