EDIS coil designation

Can someone confirm I have my EDIS coils correctly identified in the attached pic?

The below quote is from the EDIS ignition Control with Megasquirt II page. I am confused with the underlined text.

"On EDIS8, there are two coil packages, with two coil in each package. Coil A is connected to pin 8 of the EDIS module, coil B is connected to pin 9 of the EDIS module. Coil C is connected to pin 11 of the EDIS module, coil D is connected to pin 12 of the EDIS module. You will need this info to figure out which coil pack is A/B and which is C/D. Coils A and C are on the right side of their respective coil packs, with the connector at the bottom, B and D are on the left."

Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

That statement confuses me. Just how you lay out your coils depends on their position relative to the plugs. Makes no difference which coil is ABCD on an 8 cylinder, provided the inputs and outputs to the cylinder pairs correspond. It's what gives the neatest plug lead lay out I'd go for.

On my Ford EDIS coils, which are the older sort, the ground to the coil for each pair of spark leads is on the same side of the +12 feed of the LT connector as the plug leads. And the plug outputs are also marked by cylinder numbers, if you wish to stick to the Ford convention for that.

Dunno if this helps explain things. It's the coil wiring from my Rover V8.

trakkies - Got it!

On another note, I sectioned a spare edis coil today on the mill, I figured I would share. Photo 3 I believe to be the primary coil and photo 2 is the secondary.
