that is the best title i could think of to describe what i'm doing... i'm retrofitting my MS V2 board to fit inside my OEM Bosch ecu box for a totally factory appearance not to mention fully weatherproof and nicer connection. don't get me started about all the wire soldering, it wasn't too bad though...

now on to my question, as you can see from the pictures i removed my DB9 and plan to just use a 2.5mm stereo cable instead. my question is what pins are used by MS and what wires from the stereo cable go to which pins? i've cut into my stereo cable and there are two sheilded wires and one bare. i imagine the sheilded are for the transmissions and the unshielded is ground, but how do i find out which transmission cable is which?

Put the ground from MS DB9 pin 5 to your stereo jack shield. Signal lines are pins 2 and 3. Wire them so that pin 2 on MS goes to pin 2 at computer end DB9, and respectively MS pin 3 to computer end pin 3. There should be really small but still readable numbers next to pins in DB9-connectors.

Nice way packing your squirt. I did it the same way 8)

So, there are only three required connections from PC to MS? The will allow for full communication?

This is great news for me!!!
