Re: no fuel.

Hi Mick-

I recently had a very similar situation. I had a running MS install that sat for about 10 months and when I took it out of storage I decided to change a few things.

One of my changes was a set of used injectors. I had them sitting in a box in my shop for about 3 years, I only assumed they ...

Re: Datalog questions regarding WB02. Log attached.

Thanks for the input guys!

I think I have put this mystery to bed though. I did more datalogging and got the same results, but I found a trend.

I have noticed that PW times above 4.0 MS give a relatively stable AFR.

Here is my theory, the rather large injectors (42 lbs/hr) are not able to meter ...

Datalog questions regarding WB02. Log attached.

MS-II, V3 board, V2.88 code, MT V2.25
Ford 4.6L V-8 naturally aspirated
EDIS-8
42 lbs. injectors
Innovate LC-1 WB O2

This afternoon I went out and did a short datalogging run. While reviewing the log I noticed something that always seems to be there. During steady state cruising with very light ...

Re: Very difficult to start after sitting overnight.

The problem is that once it has run for more than about 30 seconds from stone cold it is very easy to start for the next few hours.
You may still have to "massage" your starting PW a little, particularly your -40 value, but you're on the right track now.

Hey devastator-

You are so right!

I ...

Re: Very difficult to start after sitting overnight.

Success!

I think I finally got a handle on this thing.

Turned out to be cranking pw's after all. I just had it too lean. I now have no prime delay and a priming pulse of 6.0 @ -40 and 2.0 @ 160. My cranking pw's are at 14.0 @ -40 and 8 @ 160. This yielded a crank time of only 2.8 seconds this ...

Re: Very difficult to start after sitting overnight.

Well it isn't a fuel pressure issue!

Went back to the garage and the gauge still showed 25 lbs. I turned the key to "ON" and two seconds later I heard the injectors go "click" and watched the FP gauge jump when they did.

I turned the key to "start" and she proceded to crank and crank!

What the ...

Re: Very difficult to start after sitting overnight.

Well I didn't solve my problem I'm sorry to say. But I did make headway.

I went out this morning and once again I had to crank and crank. Once it started I could restart it with ease.

So I put the fuel pressure gauge back on and just let it sit. When I came back later I found the gauge at zero. At ...

Re: Very difficult to start after sitting overnight.

Thanks for the insight Loren! But I think I got everything solved this afternoon.

I went to the auto parts store and bought a fuel pressure gauge. It showed 28 lbs. at idle with the vacuum line hooked up to the FP regulator and 41 lbs. at idle with the line unhooked. I figured this was fine and the ...

Re: Best place for WB O2 sensor on a V8?

Hi Lance-

Thanks for the reply.

The sensor is the heated Bosch 5 wire with the Innovate LC-1 as the controller. It has worked great on the turbo application.

I am wondering though, is there going to be a big difference in O2 output from bank to bank? If so then I guess the sensor really needs be ...

Best place for WB O2 sensor on a V8?

Hi all-

I have a Ford 4.6L V8 being run by an MSII. Until recently it was turbocharged but I have just gone back to naturally aspirated.

While turbocharged I had the O2 sensor in the turbo downpipe. Now I am fabricating a new single exhaust.

My question is this, can the O2 sensor go in either ...
